Ms. Cusumano, thank you for taking time from your schedule to speak with us. Your wealth of information regarding end-of-life care and the decisions associated with it are truly remarkable. Your encouragement to “break the ice and start talking about death” was a profound take away message. You helped us reimagine our approach with those who are chronically ill, realizing dying a good death doesn’t mean we are giving up on them. No one wants to suffer as their life comes to an end, which is why you teaching us about the importance of having an end-of-life plan is so critical. Thank you for helping to open our minds and our hearts.

Kelly’s role went well beyond keeping up with the medical issues. Kelly took the initiative in every way possible, from suggesting a nutritional supplement to clothes shopping to creating a “fidget purse” with goodies that reflected items that my sister enjoyed. Kelly not only cared for but cared about my sister. We will be eternally grateful that she helped make her end-of-life better.

You all are wizards dealing with all the things related to my mother. Thank you!

Liz has been an instrumental partner in 8 years of long-distance caregiving for my mother. She has seen us through multiple living situations, and has always been there to support my mother and her needs. I’ve relied on her sound advice in so many different situations and can’t imagine how my mother would have been able to stay in Florida as she wanted without Liz.

Mary and I want to thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for your work with our parents. It was a comfort and security to know that you were there advocating for them and watching their care.  It was a comfort to see in person their faces light up when you walked in the room.  Your expertise and ability to communicate with the medical staff at Hospice and St Mark paid great dividends to our family and gave us peace of mind.

11 months ago, I was desperately in need of getting another CNA for my 86 yr. old mother living miles away. I called another agency, and they recommended that our family hire a professional guardian/care manager and recommended Barlowe & Associates. We quickly discovered that the care manager was exactly what my mother needed and was well worth it. An NFL quarterback—calling the perfect plays, initiating correct actions and handling the snaps. The care manager mastered the execution of challenging games with superb knowledge. I was amazed and impressed with her professional unbiased ability to “keep on playing.” I don’t know what I would have done without her during my mom’s final days. She made sure things were approached/handled exactly as my mother wanted.

My family is very happy we were introduced to the Barlowe & Associates firm.  Liz Barlowe was amazing with helping us navigate the nursing home and assisted living choices for our sister Maureen.  Dylan visits with Maureen and is kind, compassionate, and assists with her needs.  Kelly is wonderful!  She is our angel who is there for our sister when we cannot be.  She is intelligent and navigates the health issues and doctor visits with expertise and care.  Our family would be lost without these amazing individuals!

Daphni you, and everything you do for Carol, is at the top of my list for things I’m thankful for. Not sure if you realize how much you impact Carol and how much you benefit her, but I do, and I am truly thankful.

Kelly, as this season of gratitude approaches, the number one person I am grateful for is you. I can’t thank you enough for what you did for us. When I was in the storm, I didn’t quite get it but as I looked back at this tumultuous year, I realize that without you Jim would not be where he is today. He is now walking unassisted in the house, and we will be forever grateful to you. Words can’t express how grateful we are, but please realize you’re at the top of the list.
